The History of Hall Bros

The Hall Bros story begins in the early 1950s when we first started out as engineers for agricultural equipment, cars, and boats in and around Bridlington, East Yorkshire. As demand for our marine engineering services on the busy local harbours increased so did the number of associated services we offered. When we purchased our first mobile crane to assist with lifting boat engines and other heavy parts, we made a first step into what would eventually become one of our main businesses – crane hire and contract lifting.

Similarly, taking ‘a bit of diesel’ down to the fishing boats in the early days then escalated to fuelling local farms, then heating oil for houses and eventually became today’s Hall Bros (Fuels) Ltd serving the region from modern depots in Bridlington and York. As it transpired that fuel customers wanted reliable back-up in terms of boiler servicing/repair and oil tank replacements, we added heating engineers to our staff during the 1990s and now provide an even wider range of services in that field too.

Today’s Hall Bros is comprised of a Fuel Distribution Company, a Lifting Services Division, and a Heating & Plumbing Division, looking after a wide range of customers across East and North Yorkshire and still proudly run from Bridlington by the same family that started the business over 70 years ago.

We’ve put together a gallery of photos and news clippings showing that jobs that we’ve been involved in and the vehicles we’ve operated over the years. If you have any photos or clippings of your own featuring Hall Bros vehicles, jobs, or sites (past or present), we’d absolutely love to see them. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
